Happy Thanksgiving Week Everyone!!! Woke up to a crisp 65-degree morning with nothing but blue skies here in South Florida and that was literally the cherry on top. For some of us it’s a 2 or 3-day workweek, which puts everyone in a great mood already! Add Thanksgiving & Black Friday (from home :P) and for me it’s the best week of the YEAR!! Thanksgiving is definitely my favorite holiday especially when it comes to the food!

Which brings me to my next point; you’ll never catch me wearing jeans on Thanksgiving. I mean that’s a recipe for disaster. I need to be able to stuff my face comfortably and not feel like I’m bulging out of my jeans….am I right?

Today I’m sharing holiday look #2! A skirt is another versatile option for the holiday. I honestly think a lot of people think a skirt has to be dressy but that’s totally wrong. This look is super basic but still stylish because it’s my accessories that add the subtle pops of elegance and style that dress it all up! I dress for comfort almost 85% of the time and use my accessories as ways of showing off style or adding a bit of edge or elegance to dress it up, depending on how I feel that day.

This skirt is MISA Los Angeles and I’m obsessed!!! I’m not surprised as I recently found out that this is the same designer behind Tbags Los Angeles which I also loved. This brand is a bit on the expensive side but worth the splurge if you can! They have a velvet dress here that I love but I just found out WAYF makes a similar option in another color here at a lower cost! SCORE! I paired this skirt with a loose cozy sweater and since it’s still pretty warm here I chose to pair it with these nude heels. For those of you with cooler temps you can add a pair of booties, knee high boots or even stockings of some sort to dress it up and keep you warm!

Jewelry! Let’s talk about these earrings. If you’re in the market for some inexpensive, quality and on trend jewelry you have to check out BaubleBar. I’m sure most of you have heard of them but if you haven’t they are honestly the BEST option for jewelry and definitely affordable. It’s also a great option for gifts for family and friends during the holidays. Shop my look in the widget below and I also rounded up some of my favorite jewels from BaubleBar that are on my wishlist right now below. Best part is most of them are an additional 30% off with code HOLIDAY30 right now!!

    New York Fashion ‘Weekend’ Recap!

I was sitting on the plane with my husband a couple weeks ago, getting ready to take off for NYFW and I was literally pinching myself, is this real life?? NYFW has always been something I dreamed of and I couldn’t believe I was on my way.

I mean I know this means something different for everyone but I really used to think how the heck am I ever getting myself to fashion week?

For many years I toyed around with the idea of starting my own blog but I never really had the courage. I have to thank my husband, Tyler for grabbing my phone a year ago and actually creating my Instagram account for me. The emotions I felt were all over the place, I was petrified that no one would want anything to do with my blog or like any of my photos or just be haters which, we all know there are a TON of those. About a year ago when I started my blog, Annie from The Lovely Girl, asked me to participate in my first giveaway with the goal of attracting some new followers. She then decided to start a Facebook group with the girls who were in the giveaway and named it Style Collective but Annie didn’t stop there. She has since turned Style Collective into a major #GIRLBOSS community. If you’re interested in being a member or have questions please feel free to reach out to me directly or head to the main page here. The reason I wanted to bring this up is because a couple weeks ago I met Annie and about 30 other Style Collective members during NYFW and I swear this group of girls is one of the reasons I’m still blogging. I have met some unbelievably beautiful women inside and out!

Back to NYFW, I wish I could say I felt super prepared for that weekend but unfortunately I felt the complete opposite! I was pretty much provided an ultimatum at my job and unfortunately after almost 3 years I had to part ways. That week came as a big surprise and it was a bit hard to focus on the stuff I needed to do for Fashion Week but the distraction couldn’t have come at a better time. Thankfully my cousin’s girlfriend who is the sweetest angel ever, works for Alexander Wang. I had spoken to her when I first thought about heading to NY for fashion week and she said she would absolutely put in a request for me to attend the SS17 Alexander Wang show but we wouldn’t really know until 2 days before….You guys, I was literally running around my apartment screaming and dancing like a little girl!!

Read more below on what I did, my looks from Day 1 and 2 of NYFW and more about my day with my Style Collective baes at the ShopStyle Social House!!!

    Day 1:

We got into the city and immediately checked into the hotel. We stayed at The Lotte New York Palace and it was absolutely beautiful. I left the hotel and travel up to the hubs and we were so surprised when we got there. We had a couple hours to grab something to eat and then get ready for the first show which was Area. They were a finalist for the 2016 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund! They specialize in textile manipulation!

I decided I wanted to go with an edgy and easy look for day 1. I fell in love with this burgundy (great color for fall) slip dress from Astr. I paired it with a choker and my WhoWhatWear leather motto jacket, similar here. I also went with my Steve Madden booties here that are my go to for fall, so comfortable { PS. they look exactly like the Isabel Marant ones but much more affordable }. I linked my outfit in the widget below under the images.

    Day 2:

This was the best day ever! I got to meet some of my awesome Style Collective sisters and I got to attend the SS17 Alexander Wang show at night 🙂 I love love this WAYF dress I wore for during the day. I found it the week before at Nordstrom on a manican and I immediately had the sales associate take it off of her because it was the last small! It definitely made me feel like I was channeling my inner Blair Waldorf with that lace neck tie. I knew it was going to be warm but didn’t know it was going to stay in the 90’s. I decided I wanted to bring my knee-highs since I NEVER get to wear them in Miami! Whatever it was totally worth it now that I think about it. I ended up leaving a little early for brunch, thankfully because traffic was bananas. Brunch with the SC girls was at Pennsylvania 6 NYC and delicious. It was so nice to meet all the ladies in person, I loved it! After brunch we all headed over to the ShopStyle Social House. What a get together that was!! They really put together an awesome event. It took place at The Glass Houses which overlooked some awesome views of the city. They had 2 floors, one with rose’ and one with coffee, how perfect? You could get your hair and make-up done, personalize a brand new Gigi New York Bag (check mine out below). They even had a BaubleBar stand where you can try on chokers and then take some Polaroids for a chance to win some jewels or be featured. Overall, it was an awesome day and I really enjoyed getting to know my SC sisters and look forward to doing it all again next year!! Shop this look in the widget below <3

Last but not least the grand finale…. The SS17 Alexander Wang show blew my mind! The energy in there was so riveting. I got there super early just because again, the traffic that weekend was crazy nuts and I wasn’t taking any chances. I don’t know why the city of NY thought it was smart to have the United Nation in town, a parade, NYFW and also a marathon going on all on the same day! The show as well as the after party took place at Pier 94, such a HUGE venue. When we got there it was pretty calm. Because we were pretty early we caught a bit of the pre show run through and Alex himself inspecting the final set, runway and lighting. I was mesmerized at everything going on. So many people everywhere in all black communicating in headsets, I mean yes I have seen this on TV but it’s completely different when you’re right there and practically in it!! The show was supposed to start at 9:20 PM but it didn’t start until 9:45 PM or so and was over in literally less than 10 minutes. Crazy how you spend half a year planning out something that is done just like that. The celebrity sightings were non stop. Between Kylie and Tyga, Madonna and her daughter, Anna Wintour, Pamela Anderson, Nicki Minaj and many more. My husband only came to the after party but I told him to get there by like 9:30 just to be safe but the show didn’t event start, meanwhile outside, he was snapping me videos of Nicki Minaj who was trying to drive up and get out of her car for the show and no lie more than 20 paparazzi’s were on her car and she couldn’t even get out. It’s nuts how these photographers are so up close and personal in these celebrities faces. Kendall Jenner was flawless as always walking the runway!! I loved that the clothing were simple yet chic and casual, oh and all the models were in flats! It was also cool to see the collaboration with Adidas revealed on the runway.

After the show was done the screen behind the runway was pulled over and #WANGFEST was unveiled. This was the actual after party which was so cool! I mean they didn’t miss a detail. Check out more details from the show here at Vogue. My full look from the Wang show is still on sale and I linked it below in the widget!

I wish I had more photos but it was pretty dark in there and it went by so fast. I have to say for my first time ever I’m happy I ended up attending the few shows and events I went to because I got a little taste of what it was like. Next time I’m looking forward to going all out!!
